You Win Some ....

I'm still delighted beyond reason with some of the 50p tops I found at the car boot sale the other week.

This black one with a bow detail to the front goes wonderfully with my beige combat trousers.

And this lime-green one with an unusual back cut-out detail looks wonderful with jeans or combats.  I love 'em to bits and am still amazed that I actually found things so nice, in my (full-figure) size, and for only 50p each.  There were other tops too but some of them are more winter weight so I haven't got round to wearing those yet.

I was also very pleased to find this nice sleeveless top in one of the Billericay charity shops this week.  At £2.75 it was a lot dearer than the others but its a lovely fit and I don't have many sleeveless tops that are fit to wear outside the house.  (Now all we need is the weather for me to get some wear out of it this summer!!)

Those are some of the recent wins.  But, for the THIRD time, I've managed to buy a king-size duvet cover instead of a double. 

I was a tad annoyed to find my 'new' duvet cover - which I'd been assured was a double by the seller - turned out to be a king-size.  I only discovered it when I put the double duvet in it - grrr!  Shall we just say that my language was 'choice'!  Ah well, it did only cost £1.00 and it can always go in the next charity collection bag.

I love the new duvet cover. Why don't you just sew down two sides (one top, one side) to make it into a double size? For something that was such a bargain it would certainly be worth the effort. You always find much better things than I ever do!

I agree with Lindsey about the duvet cover: except if you only sewed down once side you'll probably have enough left over to make matching pillowcases.

And are you planning to cut a pattern from the sleeveless top?

I've just had the same duvet problem but in reverse! A friend was having a clear-out and gave me a hardly used set with a double duvet cover and 2 pillow cases. Very pretty - white with big red printed flowers. I was very excited. Until I got it home and remembered that we have a king size duvet. Grrrrr....

Well done with those tops. You can see they are nice quality ones and I love the bow on the first.

The cs one is more expensive but I can see exactly why you bought it. Its very pretty, fresh and summery looking.
And I agree totally, where is the weather to wear our new finds?
I've got two jumpers on today!

Thats a good idea about making a double cover from the kingsize. Are you going to have a go?

Nice tops, it's great when you find such bargains...and even the CS top is a bargain, it's just that we get used to only paying 50P ;)
My daughter had that duvet cover a couple of years ago until we changed colour schemes!
