I was reasonably pleased with how my knitted hot-water bottle cover turned out. It ended up looking a bit like an off-cut from a cricket sweater, maybe the wool should have been knitted double to give better insulation and for some odd reason the Irish wool made my stitches look really uneven. But then for a practical item that was only going to be used now and again it wasn't too bad - it served it's purpose and it fitted the hottie well. Then I stumbled across this beauty, what a work of art, and now I feel terribly inadequate. It's no good, my hot-water bottle cover will have to be unpicked and knitted again.
I like your cover. The other cover is gorgeous isn't it, I love fair isle things, beautiful colours. Making a hot water bottle cover is on my list for the next couple of days as well.

You don't want it to be too insulated - you need to the heat to seep out, otherwise you'll be cold and won't get the benefit !

Hi,
Just saw your link to my blog about the BodyShop vouchers, thanks for that!
I like your cover, please don't unpick it! There's something cosy and nostalgic about it.

I agree with the others, don't unpick it, it's lovely!

I love your cover, think rustic, I did laugh as I had seen the other cover and had felt it had set an extremely high standard, one I had no hope of reaching. I say everything I do is either rustic or country, this covers such a wide range people just say, oh! lovely.

OMG what a fantastic hottie cover in fairisle. Seems a waste to make so much effort on something that won't ever been seen. Yours is fine, will work beautifully and is sewn up better! I certainly wouldn't unpick it.

Yes, the fairisle one is pretty, but I bet the bottle would fall out the bottom or the cover would ride up and scald your toes. Yours is lovely! Knit another if you must, but don't unpick your 'cricketer's' one.

Now way those little ribbons would hold the bottle in place.
I much prefer the friendly look of yours

I think yours is perfect. I love the color combination and I do want some warmth coming out of it as well. I've always wanted a cover for my bottle but I've never even attempted to make one. I can only seem to knit long scarves.

You know what, I like your cover way better--think Ralph Lauren Country. The fair isle cover is beautiful but a bit much. No, a lot much--what's the word--twee?
