Earlier in the weekend it looked like the boot sales today would be halted by rain but, as always seems to happen, the rain never actually got as far as Essex. We could badly badly do with rain at the moment though as the grass is brown and the earth is cracking open. We have had the odd light shower these past couple of days but nothing worth speaking about at all. A really sustained and heavy downpour would be marvellous - providing it's not on a Sunday morning, of course. Anyway, no rain arrived and the boot sale was on as usual - despite it being exceedingly windy, yet again.
First find of the morning was a brand-new Monsoon girl's bag with a Russian doll motif on the front. I paid 75p for it and will put it away and list it on ebay later in the year.
Two bottles of some very fancy-pants organic shampoo - 50p per bottle. I know it is meant to be for children but I can't see why it won't be equally as nice on mine and P's bonce pieces. The seller had a box-load of organic ungents of all descriptions and now I'm slightly regretting that I didn't buy a few more items. Never mind, maybe they'll be there again in a few weeks.
A few unused vintage Irish linen tea towels - 25p each. For ebay.
A Ruth Rendell that I have read before but which I don't have a copy of at the moment - 30p.
Two Lego Bionicles sets for my nephew. I was assured that they're both complete but at 20p each I'm not so sure. Never mind, they'll do for spares if nothing else.
Three sets of vintage salt and pepper sets. The seller had a couple of boxes full of these types of sets - presumably someone had been a keen collector at some point - but these three were the only ones that really took my fancy. The owls are plastic and the little people set are painted wood. They were 20p per pair.
I'll link this post to Apron Thrift Girl's Thrift Share Monday and Me and My Shadow's Magpie Monday.
Everyone seems to be finding such fabulous teatowels lately! I need to start looking for some myself,

I can't resist a Russian doll so am loving that bag, also strangely drawn to the salt and pepper pots. :)

The tea towel with all the birds on it is my favorite of your fabulous treasures! I also am quite partial to the owl salt & pepper shakers. Thanks for sharing.

As per usual, you have found some wonderful stuff. Love the second teatowel, the bag and the s&P sets.
Btw, Westcliff chaz shops not bad. One in particular good - not hugely cheap but had some lovely stuff I thought. Unfortunately, I had to leave behind a vase I was admiring coz it was quite heavy to carry about with me. Went on to Leigh and, unfortunately, couldn't visit all the shops there as my daughter wanted to go to the beach (spoilsport). Did pick up two lovely items, though, in the 10p basket of one shop . Yowser! Will post about them eventually no doubt.
Have a good week!

Love the graphics on those tea towels, especially the bird feeder one! My mom would be so excited about those boxes of s & p shakers, I especially like the wooden couple.
