I went back to the charity shop this morning and picked out twenty crochet patterns (actually, that's a lie, it was 19 crochet patterns and one knitting pattern.) I had a hard job deciding which ones to buy and which to leave behind - hopefully, they'll still be there another day.
This time I mainly concentrated on the crochet mini dress patterns as these seem to be pretty popular on ebay. But there were plenty of other types to choose from too, including a scary-looking crochet swimsuit - wonder how that would stand up to immersion in water? - some crocheted coats and more traditional crochet picot edgings.
I also picked up two granny square-based patterns as granny square crochet seems to be very popular at the moment.
I also coudn't resist this incredibly old knitting pattern, I'm guessing it dates from the 1930s. There is something wonderfully evocative about pre-war knitting designs. The patterns were 25p each and they're all heading for ebay eventually.
Hi Elizabeth, I've just read your post frOm the Babycham tts to this one. Love these patterns. I'd never contemplate any of them but I just love looking at the pics!
I remember blokes back in the day (when it was trendy to wear fifties and sixties outfits to clubs) wearing those Tootal scarves.
Just wanted to say that I'm a big fan of Ruth Rendall - read nearly ALL her books apart from the Wexford series. She's got a new one coming out soon. Have you read any Barbara Vine? I'm sure you have. Big fan of those too.
I'm off to Westcliff tomorrow to visit their 10 charity shops! Can't wait!

Fabulous patterns. I would certainly crochet some of them and I'm sure they'll do well on Ebay. That 1930s knitting pattern is quite unusual - it looks very early 1930s I think.

I love the Lee Target little girls dress. Would love to make that for my granddaughter. If I see it on eBay, I may well bid for it :)
