If you ever find yourself in the Bristol / Bath area, I can highly recommend a visit to Hanham Court Gardens.
It's a 13th century manor house (with attached Hanham Abbots church)
With the most beautiful formal
A kitchen garden - with plenty of very covetable terracotta rhubarb forcers.
Plants galore.
I loved this little gypsy caravan / shepherds hut. Mum even managed to see a deer galloping down this slope - though I was sitting down and missed it!!
And they offer a lovely afternoon tea in the 'undercroft' - with delicious home-made cake.
Delightful.
Love from Mum

It looks lovely there! I have bookmarked this page for the future, we visit Bath from time to time. In fact I was in the area for a day just a few weeks ago, on the way home from Hay=on-Wye. Will bear Hanham Court in mind, thank you!

What a delightful place and how I long to go there but alas it is a journey too far for us as we are in Yorkshire! We used to live in Cheltenham a long time ago only a stones throw away...maybe one day. Until then I will certainly put this on my Places to visit list. I just adore the Rhubarb pots.
