A certain very special young man has just had his sixth birthday celebrations. For his birthday treat he decided he wanted to go to St Werburghs City Farm in Bristol. What a brilliant choice it was as we all had a really lovely day out.
First up were the gorgeous animals at the farm - including this magnificent sheep.
A very large germolene-pink pig - soaking up the lovely sunshine.
A cockrel with attitude.
Then it was on to the pub next door - appropriately named 'The Farm' - for a rather delicious lunch al fresco.
It's no wonder Banksy comes from Bristol when this is the level of building art in the city.
Then on to a wander around the area, including looking at this self-build eco-friendly housing estate.
Where there are front doors that look like hobbits should live behind them.
And door bells recycled from old bus bells - what an inspired idea, I want one of those.
And wandering walks down what should be country lanes but are really deep within inner-city Bristol. It was a wonderful, magical day and very fitting for the best little boy in the whole world's sixth birthday. Happy birthday, darling D.
So pleased that you all had a lovely time. The pictures were great and I especially loved the one of the contented pig! Hope that your Mum is feeling much better.

Aw, my youngest son just turned 6 too (on the 22nd) :) Such a good age for a little boy, lol. And I bought the exact same candles! How lovely that you get to spend so much fun time with your nephew. Aren't boys just so fun :) :)
