I picked up these two books at the second-hand book sale last week and wondered if anyone on here would like them.
They both date from the 1970's and have more than a 'whiff' of The Good Life about them. 'The Pauper's Cookbook' is pretty self-explantory - lots of cheap recipes (costing, according to the blurb on the back, between ten and twenty pence per head!! Ah, those were the days.) 'On Next to Nothing' is much more wide-ranging, covering topics such as shelter, food, clothes, machines, transport, toys, holidays and how to grow your own tobacco - lawks, how times have changed!
Anyway, if you'd like these two books leave me a comment and if there are a few names I'll do a draw sometime in the middle of next week. Apologies, but I'll have to say UK only readers for this one as the books are a bit too heavy to post overseas.
I would love to enter. I am going through a bit of a change in the way I do things .. to help save money but also I love reading about, and using, 'the old ways' of doing things. Our parents and grandparents used natural things and learned to live more within their means and I want to be able to do that a bit more!
That, and I am sure they are fun to read too . there are so many things that used to be done that just seem alien these days!

I'd love to enter your draw, please!
Always trying, sometimes failing, to make do and mend and save money wherever I can - whilst still making life as interesting as possible.
By the way - love the £2 artwork in your previous post!

I would love to be considered for the "On Next to Nothing" book please. It would give someone else the chance to be considered for the Pauper's Cookbook, which I have a copy of (it's excellent!)
Thank you for making the books into giveaways!
