But it stayed dry JUST long enough for the local boot sale to take place. Which was lucky as there is no boot sale next week, plus I managed to find quite a few nice bits and bobs.
A couple of vintage 60's head scarves, plus a paisley-print bandana. I paid 90p for the lot and they'll all be destined for ebay at some point. I've had a good bit of luck selling bandanas lately so I'm hoping this one will do well too.
A pair of vintage flat sheets - 50p each. I saw some identical to this in a charity shop in Billericay recently and a) they were £3.00 each and b) I didn't want to carry them around all day with me as they are tres heavy. So I was delighted to find these this morning. I have sewing plans for them - eventually!!
A Welsh tapestry cushion cover - 50p - the colours are much brighter than they appear in the photo. This one will also be ebayed at some point.
Another useful nylon bag in a purse thingy for keeping in a handbag. I've got similar one already and it is mighty useful. The black and white little purse has a Sanderson print with a travel-sized bar of Sanderson soap inside. They were both 50p each.
And, for me, a sweet little vintage souvenir brooch from Interlaken - 50p. P and I visited Interlaken the first time I ever went to Switzerland (nearly 20 years ago - gulp!!) The teeny little cow bell actually makes a tinkling sound - which is pretty ironic for me as I can find the 'clonking' of actual Swiss cow bells on live Swiss cows just a tad annoying when I'm over there. I think P feels that this is a criticism too far of his native land so I try and keep schtum about saying how irritating those darned cow bells are!! (The football supporters of their national team take humungous cow bells with them to 'clonk' and 'dong' loudly in support of the Swiss side - a bit like the Dutch 'oompah' band, but less musical!!)
Loving the Welsh tapestry cushion - wouldn't that be a gorgeous up-cycled tote bag? Loving the Betty purse thingy, too. My Liz friends would fight over having one of those in their handbags! xxx
