After yesterday's sewing fracas, I've returned to my knitting with renewed vigour. P's Christmas present continues on slowly in a rather pleasing moss stitch. (I'm pretty sure I'm safe to show a photo as P seems to have given up reading my blog for the time being. As Dad used to say in these sorts of situations - 'thanks for your support, I'll wear it always'!!)
It's knitted in a Debbie Bliss alpaca/silk aran yarn which is unbelievably soft yet in a nice masculine blue colour. This yarn was a great bargain when I visited Get Knitted in the summer - £2 per 50g ball.
I also finished up the apple washcloth knitted in the very festive cherry-red Rowan cotton yarn I thrifted last week.
I've scientifically worked out that there is just enough yarn left to make another one. (I weighed the leftover yarn against the completed washcloth on my kitchen scales and one seemed to balance out the other just nicely. Hope it works - science was never my strong point!)
Note to self - don't try and take photos without a flash in the gloom of a November afternoon when it's getting dark at 3.30pm. Get your act together and do it in the morning!!!!
A quick shout out to any UK readers. My local Boots the Chemist have got loads of reduced items at the moment. There are all sorts of odd things like a bottle of Gaviscon for 80p, vitamins and supplements (they tend to be the more unusual ones) for approx. £1.50, and some hair care and toiletry items heavily reduced too. Not sure if this is particular to my local Boots (I can't imagine it is) but I thought I'd pass on the info. I only went in for a bottle of their own-brand shampoo (very nice quality for only 59p) and came out loaded with all sorts of heavily reduced but useful items.
My Husband has never read my blog! I think he'd learn a thing or two about me if he did!(only joking). He's not terribly good at IT, he gets by but doens't quite get the whole blog thing.....
