I've finally managed to get to the Thursday Car Boot Sale. This season up 'til now I've either not been in Essex or the weather has conspired against me so I was really pleased that it stayed dry and sunny for the car boot this morning.
I always enjoy a little jaunt to this particular car boot sale as, being held on a Thursday morning, it's never too busy and it also means I can justify a trip to Sainsbury's at the same time. (I absolutely won't pay £3.30 in bus fare just to get to Sainsbury's.)
This morning there were quite a lot of sellers about and not just the usual traders either. Amongst other things I came home with some knitting patterns which were 20p each.
Including this one for socks on two needles - I got this especially for Mum as she is quite a prolific sock knitter but only on two needles. (Mum if you want me to post this down to you let me know.)
And a vintage Pingouin knitting book which I quite liked for these really chunky hoods / collars (not the red balaclava-type article on the right as I think I could definitely frighten the neighbours if I went out wearing that next winter!!)
A few books, of which one was good for Amazon, and the one pictured above with the fabulous artwork on the cover which sounds like it might be a reasonable read, the books were also 20p each.
And a rather nice unused thick felt Hallmark Gift Bag which I don't really need but thought I'd have anyway as it was only 20p. It may well come in useful at Christmas.
So I had a jolly old time at the car boot sale and then went over to Sainsbury's where I discovered to my horror that they had re-arranged the entire store. Hell and damnation, I couldn't find a darn thing in there. Why oh why do they do that? They may think it persuades people to buy more but in my case it frustrated me so much that I just wanted to get out of there. The swines. I think it may be some while before I venture in there again - grrr!
You collected some nice bits and bobs at the booty.
And made me laugh about Sainsburys rearranging their store. I hate it when they do that, totally confuses me and I spend ages trying to find what I need and avoiding their marketing ploys (unless it is reduced stickered ;-) )
