After having got over the HUGE disappointment of most unfortunately missing the first half-hour of Saturday's jumble, I still managed to come home with some excellent finds.
Vintage tapestry with its original 'Made in the Empire' label still attached, a Granny square crocheted tea cosy, 1970s desk tidy (love the pea-green colour,) a box of unused typewriter ribbons (sold some before on ebay and they went very well,) a pack of unused denim elbow patches - just the thing for my about-the-house hooded cardigan which has developed a whopping great hole in one elbow, and a large piece of fabric which has a gorgeous Indian print on it - I'm thinking this may make a nice skirt for me next summer.
A full-size stove-top kettle. After my recent kettle-less experience I thought it prudent to buy this one when I saw it. It needs a bit of a wash but should make boiling sufficient amounts of water a lot easier if / when our new electric kettle goes kaput or, indeed, if we have a power cut.
A brand-new, with £39 label still attached, Marks and Sparks jacket - £1.00. This one is destined for ebay at some point.
Two really large feather cushions pads - 50p the two. I was delighted to find these as I've got a small project in mind that requires cushion pads this size.
And a jolly nice summer skirt for moi. I also found a pair of Monsoon jeans for my sister - 50p, a pile of T-shirts for my nephew - all 20p each, plus quite a few books that were good for re-sale. So, all in all, despite being late for the start I was well pleased with what I brought home.
You did brilliantly, Elizabeth. Love the look of the fabric and the tapestry. I was rather drawn to the lovely looking patchwork thingy that you've photographed your finds on. Yet another one of your marvellous makes no doubt!

Love those elbow patches in a weird nostalgic way!
Our scout jumble lady has just phoned to say the time advertised in the paper is an hour out but if we'd like to come the night before for a sneak preview we're more than welcome. x

Lovely finds despite being late! I wish we had jumble sales here, but I've found only 2 in the last 4 years!
